Title Search Only. The search engine optimization tricks you may use on Google won’t work on Pinterest. Pinterest uses a rather simple search function that recognizes keywords and phrases above anything else. It hasn’t been verified yet, but experts believe that Pinterest stress the importance of keywords. Write your pin description and the file name as the same words people would use to search for. An example would be naming a file “black leather couch” instead of “IMG_3009”, even if the pin description is different, the file name will make a huge difference. Granted, your pin description should include the title of the file name somewhere, but should also include a brief description of the product.

Bored naming. No, that wasn’t a typo. You should re-name your boards and make them fun and descriptive. The default boards are boring and not specific to you company or what you do. Also pay attention to other things your followers may be interested in that relate to your industry that you could create a board for. This is a great way to re-pin things from other sources to establish a greater diversity amongst your pins.

Be active. Don’t just be on Pinterest, engage on Pinterest! Comment, like, pin and re-pin things so users know you’re alive! No one wants to follow a company that just sits there like a fly on the wall watching everything happen. The main reason to be on social platforms is to be social.

Promote, promote, promote! Pinterest is not something that should function all by itself.
