Is Doing Nothing the Best Option? | COSO Media | Hudson, Akron, Canton, Cleveland, OhioThe answer to this is a definite no! This is referring to your social media sites, website, and general marketing. None of these can just sit there without being maintained and worked on consistently  Now you’re probably thinking, well why not? Let’s take a closer look at each.

Social Media

The main purpose for a business to be on social media sites is to interact with your customers. If you are not frequently on your site, then that is near impossible to do. Another big thing to note is social media is always changing and updating and if you are not there to update your page then it will reflect poorly on your company image. Users also notice when your last post on your profile was. If you are not posting often then followers will think your profile is old and out of date. It would be like going to a book store with boarded up windows and dim lighting; it is not very welcoming and it does not look like the business is doing much. This is not the image you want to portray to potential and current customers.

Website

There are several reasons why you can not make a website and be done with it. For starters, that would kill your SEO rank. If a page has not been updated or visited in awhile it will drop in its ranking. Secondly, an issue may arrise within your site, such as a link could break or an image may not be displaying properly. However, if you do not maintain your site you would never know. This also reflects poorly on your company image because it looks like you do not care.

General Marketing

You could have the most innovative product, but if you do not properly market and brand it, no one will notice it. Sure, you may have a few people stumble across every now and then, but your overall traffic could be much greater. You work extremely hard to   make your product or service the best it can be, telling people about it is the easy part.

Together these small marketing tactics add up to large results. Investing more time into each of these will only benefit  your business. Keeping social media, your website, and general marketing updated will help strengthen your brand image, ultimately leading to more business opportunities.
